Passive Expulsion
Passive Expulsion
With trans-tibial amputees, this system uses body weight to expel excess air through a one way valve creating an airtight seal between the knee sleeve at the top of the socket.
With trans-femoral amputees a sealing liner ring creates the seal at the top of the socket.
This system affords a high level of comfort due to the vacuum created between the suspension sleeve and the liner/skin. When the amputee ambulates the air inside the socket is forced out forming an airtight strong connection to the residual limb.
